9/11 ‘truther’ leading Egyptian presidential race

An Islamist who believes that the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States were an American conspiracy is the front-runner in Egypt’s presidential race, a new poll shows.

Abdel-Moneim Abolfotoh, formerly a leading figure in the Muslim Brotherhood, led the field of 13 candidates with 32 percent of the vote in a survey released Monday by the Washington-based Brookings Institution.

Mr. Abolfotoh expressed his views on the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in an interview last year with Egypt scholar Eric Trager.

Mr. Trager, now with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, quoted Mr. Abolfotoh as saying:
“It was too big an operation …. They [the United States] didn’t bring this crime before the U.S. justice system until now. Why? Because it’s part of a conspiracy.”

Egyptians will vote Wednesday and Thursday in their first presidential election since the toppling of Hosni Mubarak last year. If none of the candidates wins a majority, the two top vote-getters will compete in a runoff next month.

'America has some warts, no doubt, but it's hard to beat our Bill of Rights, which everyone knows includes the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and freedom to assemble peacefully. While Canada has no such document, the country still has a reputation of supporting such rights. So a new piece of legislation from the Quebec legislature, aimed at curbing peaceful protests, is a dramatic departure from the country's history of tolerance and democracy.

The legislation, called Bill 78, seeks to mitigate protests this spring over higher education costs. It would impose new limitations and multiple requirements for public demonstrations, while threatening stiff penalties for anyone disrupting college and university classes, the Globe and Mail reported.'

While the global elite are still clinging to the hope that the euro single currency can survive a Greek exit that now looks inevitable, some members of the financial aristocracy have already given up on the entire eurozone altogether.

In an article for the Financial Times entitled, We must break up the failing euro, former Bilderberg attendee Sir Martin Jacomb concedes that all efforts to rescue the euro have been in vain, calling for “all 17 members to decide at once to revert to national currencies.”

Jacomb attended the 1985 Bilderberg Group meeting in New York but has not been invited back to the elitist confab since. No wonder given the fact that he is obviously an ardent skeptic of the single currency that Bilderberg hatched as far back as 1955.

Jacomb, former chairman of Canary Wharf Group, argues that a “five day bank holiday” should be imposed to allow financial markets to absorb the shock of the collapse of the euro.

Euro-zone officials have told each country in the currency union they should assess the fallout of a probable Greek exit from the euro and prepare their own contingency plans on how to deal with it.
The decision was made during a European Working Group (EWG) teleconference on Monday, two officials told Reuters. The EWG lays the groundwork for Eurozone finance ministers meetings and also forms the board of the region’s bailout fund, the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF).

A teenage girl was kidnapped for Vatican sex parties by a gang involving Vatican police and foreign diplomats 30 years ago, says the Catholic Church's leading exorcist priest, who damned Harry Potter as the “work of the Devil”.

­Father Gabriele Amorth was appointed by the late John Paul II as the Vatican's chief exorcist and claims to have carried out 70,000 exorcisms. He said after one of the parties 15-year-old Emanuela Orlandi was murdered and her body disposed of.

The outspoken priest says the schoolgirl was snatched from the streets of central Rome in the summer of 1983 and forced to take part in sex parties.

"This was a crime with a sexual motive. Parties were organized, with a Vatican gendarme acting as the 'recruiter' of the girls,” Father Amorth, 85, told La Stampa newspaper.

"The network involved diplomatic personnel from a foreign embassy to the Holy See. I believe Emanuela ended up a victim of this circle."
