Thrive Movement Update - November 14, 2013

Dear Thrive Movement,

Do you have the right to not be violated; to drink unpolluted water and breathe fresh air? Is it something people should vote on, or is it simply your inalienable right? This question is at the core of what is called the Liberty Perspective. True Liberty - not to be confused with the Libertarian political party- has turned out to be one of the most challenging topics covered in our film, THRIVE.

Thoreau said, "There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." For us, Liberty - true sovereignty based on principles, not politics, and on non-violation rather than the threat of violence - is the solution that strikes the root.

As wars rage, pollution worsens, and our economy collapses, what solutions will truly be commensurate to the challenges we face? Socialism on the left, corporatism on the right - neither of these will deliver us from the chronic and lethal demise that is upon us. As one of our team members likes to say, "this is no time for tweaks."

This recent article by Kimberly and Foster for Connection Magazine takes a deeper look at the opposing nature of inalienable rights vs. majority rule and explores what we believe is truly the core issue of our time.

Sincerely,
Foster, Kimberly and the Thrive Team
