Area 51 mystery: Fleet of 737 passenger jets flying in & out of secretive base

 

Area 51, the US’s most secretive military base, in the Nevada desert is the center of a new mystery even Fox Mulder would investigate - a fleet of 737 jets taking off and landing on a daily basis. 

 

A new ‘airline’ called Janet features a number of red-striped Boeings based at Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport, according to Flight Club.

While the name comes from the callsign used when the planes fly in civilian airspace, some believe Janet actually stands for “Just Another Non-Existent Terminal,” the Daily Star reports.

You can’t buy tickets to fly with Janet, and those who do get a seat aren’t sharing what they’re doing once they reach their destination, the Nevada National Security Site, home to the infamous Area 51.

Rumored for decades as a site for testing and housing UFO technology, thus justifying the secrecy surrounding it, it’s part of the greater Nevada Test and Training Range and located at Groom Lake, Nevada. There Janet flights fly “multiple times daily during the work week,” Flight Club reports.
"Airport spokesperson" Johnny Henshaw-Jacobs described the planes.

Janet planes often fly to Tonopah Test Range Airport, which is part of Area 52, another secretive site.
The original 51 is so secretive that the military only admitted it existed in 2005.
What goes on there remains a mystery to this day.

Podesta, a former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, and Clinton campaign chair said the 42nd president once "asked for some information about some of these things, and in particular, some information about what was going on at Area 51."

Asked if there is evidence of alien life, Podesta said, "That's for the public to judge once they've seen all the evidence that the U.S. government has."

When it came to his own beliefs about beings from outer space, Podesta said, "There are a lot of planets out there."

And he made clear: "The American people can handle the truth on UFOs.”

The U.S. government could do a much better job in answering the quite legitimate questions that people have about what's going on with unidentified aerial phenomena," Podesta said.

Element 115: Infamous Alien ‘element’ mentioned over a decade ago in Area 51 added to periodic table

With atomic numbers of 113, 115, 117, and 118, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) announced the addition of these four elements to the periodic table, but one of them, Element 115 was already announced in 1989 when Bob Lazar, famous area 51 whistleblower revealed to the public that the UFOs possessed by the government were powered by a mysterious ‘Element 115.’ Of course at that time, the claims made by Lazar were tagged as absurd as the scientific community had no knowledge of ‘Element 115’.

In 2003, his statements gained more credibility when a group of Russian scientists managed to create the elusive element, and now, twelve years after that achievement, the discovery of ‘Element 115’ was finally confirmed after numerous tests which verified its existence.

US President Barack Obama has publicly joked about Area 51 at a White House event for the Kennedy Center honorees.

"Now, when you first become president, one of the questions that people ask you is, what's really going on in Area 51?" he said.

"When I wanted to know, I'd call Shirley MacLaine. I think I just became the first president to ever publicly mention Area 51. How's that, Shirley?"

MacLaine, who is among five artists who are receiving the honour, has claimed to have seen UFOs.

She was joined by Billy Joel joins Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock and opera star Martina Arroyo at the event, where they were awarded the nation's highest honour for influencing American culture through the arts.

For the first time ever, the United States government is acknowledging the existence of the enigmatic military base in the southern Nevada desert famously known as Area 51. But its purpose, according to recently released documents, is far less spectacular than most UFO enthusiasts would have hoped. 

The National Security Archive at George Washington University recently published a report entitled 'The Secret History of the U-2.' It chronicles the history and importance of the spy planes that were frequently used during the Cold War.

In their research for the report, the NSA the researchers obtained declassified documents about the planes that actually reference Area 51 on several occasions - as well as a map of the secret base.

The documents were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request made in 2005.

Bob Lazar is best known as the whistleblower that outed Area 51 and its extraterrestrial secrets. He claims to have been an employee there tasked with back engineering alien technology. In a recent email from his company, apparently he is now a science and technology consultant to Raytheon, and his company has contracts with the military.

In 1989, KLAS investigative reporter George Knapp conducted an interview that forever changed UFO mythology. This is when he first interviewed Bob Lazar live for his Las Vegas viewers. Lazar claimed to have worked in a secret underground lab called S4, 8 miles south of the main Area 51 base. Here he says there were several disc-shaped craft that looked as though they had been damaged. He says he was told they were extraterrestrial, and he noted that they appeared to be built for pilots that were small and humanoid.

He started telling friends about his work at the base, and even told them where and when they could view test flights. He and his friends were then busted and he was fired. So the story goes. The Air Force denies his claims. However, upon investigation, Knapp found that another top secret facility, Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL) in New Mexico, had Lazar listed in their phone book. Lazar said he had worked there, but LANL denied that claim.
